WORK & MOTHER AT ALLEN CENTER OPENS, HELPS BRING MOTHERS BACK TO WORK SAFELY
Resource for breastfeeding, working mothers becomes gold standard amenity.
HOUSTON, TX – Work & Mother Services, LLC (Work & Mother) – a network of fully equipped lactation facilities with an associated app for booking, support community, and educational resources for working mothers who are breastfeeding – prepares to open its doors at Allen Center to welcome working mothers back to work safely.
The new, upscale Work & Mother Suite at Three Allen Center has 10 private rooms, each equipped with a hospital grade pump, milk storage bags and other supplies; cleaning and sanitizing stations; lockers; refrigeration options; and more. The Work & Mother Suites are spa-like, yet professional, and are equipped with workstations that enable moms to work while they pump, should they choose to.
Company memberships to Work & Mother are an easy, cost-effective way for employers to satisfy the nursing mother provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA Section 7(r)).
“Pumping at work has always been incredibly hard for mothers. Now, with the pandemic, there are the added complications of germ spread, closed community spaces, and repurposed wellness rooms, which makes pumping at work nearly impossible. Yet, most employers still have a legal obligation to provide a proper space for nursing mothers,” says Abbey Donnell, Founder and CEO of Work & Mother.

The Work & Mother Suite is now open for private tours and enrollment. PDR Corporation designed the space.
